چکیده

An extense systematic description of the Eocene larger foraminiferal faunas recorded in South Pyrenean Basin (Sierras Exteriores) is presented herein. The large dataset provided this work includes both Nummulites and Alveolina species, along with a variety other porcellaneous hyaline taxa lesser biostratigraphic relevance, are represented. foraminifera described correspond mainly to Lutetian (SBZ13 SBZ16 biozones) interval, but late Ypresian (SBZ11, Cuisian) Bartonian (SBZ17) shallow benthic zones have also been identified. As one most relevant results analysis, new Idalina osquetaensis, described. revision middle alveolines led reassessment A. fusiformis finding two precursor forms, as affinis their corresponding aff. fragilis elongata. forms elongata fill gap alveolinid biostratigraphy. Despite not being exclusive SBZ16, these provide realiable information where present. This realibility lies on correlation biomarkers same sections calibration global time scale through magnetostratigraphy. In fact, magnetostratigraphic all provided, an update SBZ current Geologic Time Scale (Gradstein et al., 2012).

Systematics and Biostratigraphy of Foraminifera in Albian to Lower Cenomanian Deposits at Kerch Section (Southwest Qayen)

In this research systematics and biostratigraphy of the Cretaceous deposits foraminifera in Kerch section, southwestern Qayen, in the eastern margin of the Lut Block, were studied in detail. This section with 260 meters thickness, mainly formed by gray to cream color marl and shale, marly limestone and limestone laid on a light-colored limestone bed at the base. Seventeen genera and twenty two ...

Biostratigraphy of the Gurpi Formation in Sepidan section, Interior Fars basin based on planktonic foraminifera

In this study biostratigraphy of the Upper Cretaceous deposits (Gurpi Formation) in Sepidan section located in the Interior Fars basin (SW Iran) was studied. The Gurpi Formation in this section consists of 360 m lime shale, argillaceous limestone and shale laid continuously on the Ilam Formation and with a paraconformity under the Pabdeh Formation. Nine genera and 27 species of planktonic foram...

Larger benthic foraminifera from the Middle Eocene

Larger benthic foraminifera (LBF) are common and diverse throughout the Paleogene sediments of southern Tanzania, but have previously been little studied. A recent programme of onshore drilling known as the Tanzania Drilling Project has recovered large proportion of this succession for palaeoclimatic and palaeontological study. The sediment is largely a hemipelagic clay with secondary gravity s...

The biostratigraphy and paleobiology of Oligocene planktonic foraminifera from the equatorial Pacific Ocean (ODP Site 1218)

Planktonic foraminifera from a continuous Oligocene succession with clear magnetochronology and sediment cycles at Ocean Drilling Program Site 1218 (equatorial Pacific Ocean) were studied in the interval from 27 to 30 Ma. Paragloborotalia taxa are common and we examined their size, relative abundance, and stable isotopes. Multispecies stable isotope data indicate the depth habitats of Oligocene...
